Five Out-Of-This-World Mallorca Attractions To Experience This September
Many say that September is the perfect time to visit Mallorca, when the temperatures cool just enough to really explore and the summer holiday crowds lull, leaving this lively, sunny island at your fingertips. There are so many fantastic things to do in Mallorca that it is difficult to list them all, but here are just five of our favourite Mallorca attractions for this time of year.
Celebrate September in style with these Mallorca attractions
Welcome in new wines at the Festa des Vermar
Immerse yourself in every part of the wine production process at the Festa des Vermar, where you can celebrate this year’s harvest with activities such as grape treading, grape throwing and wine tasting. From the 14th to the 19th of September, the small village of Binissalem will be taken over by wine enthusiasts looking to take part in the grape stomping competition, enjoy the traditional supper of Fideus de Vermar, made with slow-cooked lamb, spices and fideua noodles, or simply soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Not to be missed.
Take in the sights with a hot air balloon ride
Mallorca’s rugged and breathtaking landscape deserved to be seen from all angles, including above! Take a hot air balloon ride over the island at sunrise or sunset – a once-in-a-lifetime experience that offers you panoramic views of the island, glass of chilled cava in hand. You’ll see all the sights over a blissful 2 hours – definitely one of the most relaxed Mallorca attractions on this list.
Dive with the sharks at Palma Aquarium
Palma Aquarium plays host to Europe’s largest shark tank, making it the best place to get to know the so-called ‘kings of the seas’. With a range of different experiences suited to all levels of divers, including those with no license, anyone can enjoy a high-octane adventure with no fewer than six sand tiger sharks and four sandbar sharks. Little ones can even have a sleepover in the ‘Big Blue’ room looking directly onto the shark tank – a truly unforgettable night, with plenty of fishy games and activities to keep them busy.
Go into the caves of the island
One of our favourite things to do in Mallorca by boat is exploring its labyrinth of galleries, caves and passages that run under the surface. Head to the Cuevas del Drach (or Dragon Caves), the large cave system on the east coast, to walk 1200m of smooth paths and see incredible colours and formations. Explore the Caves d’Arta, where stalactites and stalagmites are said to conjure up mysterious images of Heaven and Hell. With so many cave formations to explore, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Soak up the September sun at a beach club
September is a glorious time to visit Mallorca’s beach clubs, including the ultra-glamorous Nikki Beach, the elegant Purobeach Palma, and the lively Oceans Beach Club. Offering jam-packed calendars of events, from Champagne-fuelled brunches to international DJ sets, these Mallorca attractions are where you come to see and be seen. Dress to impress and get ready to party the day away!
